Maurice Myers: The Author

Maurice Myers is an accomplished author and professional speaker from the Bronx, NY. He effectively uses poetry, writing, and music to convey impactful messages and engage in meaningful conversations about real-world issues. A graduate of Lincoln University of Pennsylvania, Maurice has dedicated over eight years to education, with more than five years specializing in social-emotional learning and technology.

Maurice is the co-author of “Finders Keepers: The Age of Apophis,” and “Finders Keepers: The Quest for Ascension” written with KaJuan Smith. The novel, set in a futuristic utopia on the brink of civil war, follows four central characters—Kane, Cairo, Serenity, and Nebi—who hold the key to the realm’s fate. The story blends elements of mythology and ancient Egyptian themes with personal and cultural experiences of growing up as Black men.

In addition to “Finders Keepers,” Maurice authored “The Experiment,” published in 2020, and “The Experiment II,” published in 2024, which explores themes of resilience and personal growth through poetry and prose. His professional journey includes serving as the Site Director for the SAT prep program Let’s Get Ready, where he played a crucial role in academic development and preparation.

Maurice has spoken at schools across New York, Delaware, and Atlanta, inspiring and motivating students through his unique blend of educational and creative insights. He draws inspiration from industry icons such as Melvin Van Peebles, Nas, Martin Lawrence, and Paul Levesque, aiming to uplift and inspire his audience through his diverse talents and experiences.
